Otis aka

Our handsome boy Otis is a lover not a fighter, he is the master of Ian and Sarah Lafford and co-owned by me. He lives in a little cottage in the Cotswolds where he makes sure that the garden is pigeon free! He hates them!

He’s often seen showing his paws off up and down the country but as a loved pet first, in his downtime, he loves……….

Swimming in the hydro pool with Claire

Exploring the countryside…..sniffing EVERYTHING!!

Hanging out with his small human Grace and his furry cat friend Caspar.

He was born on the 2nd October 2016 to Asha (Lateagain Jazz’s Delight) and Noods (Funky Noodles Du Wot A Thriller). He loves getting to spend time with his mum and his sister Ellie.

In August 2018 he had his first litter with Bonnie (Lateagain Going For Gold) and had 10 beautiful, healthy puppies. 5 boys, 5 girls. 5 Black and Tan, 5 Brown and Tan. Good boy Otis, lovely even split.

Show Results

His showing career has been very successful so far with 5 reserve tickets as well as a Best in Show at Merioneth Open Show 2019 and Best Dog and Reserve Best in Show at The Dobermann Club Open Show 2019.

Here’s what the judges have to say about him!

I judged this dog as puppy in a Stakes class, I’m pleased to see that now at 2 years old he is maturing into an excellent example of the breed. He shows an outline that is clean, square and balanced. He’s super fit and his excellent muscular condition and good skeletal construction gives him a truly sound gait and with the benefit of supersized outdoor rings today he could show fully how a Dobermann should move. His head has the ideal 50:50 muzzle to skull ratio, with parallel planes, eyes are expressive, dark and set correctly, his neck is of good length and clean cut, he has good round bone and stands on catlike, tight feet. Angulation is balanced between the front and rear assemblies. Topline is strong and has a slight slope. There’s nothing exaggerated about him, he’s correct for height and weight. For me he conveys the essence of the breed - power, elegance, balance & athleticism. Handled to full advantage today, allowing his big personality to shine through but still maintaining his composure both on the move and for the stack. I was delighted to award him BOB, Gp 1 and BIS Many congratulations to his connections.

Janice Bannister - Merioneth Open Show August 2019

A superb quality b/t with well developed chest nicely proportioned head and body having good curve and reachy neck flowing into firm strong level topline holding well on the move, strongly muscled quarters and good legs, nicely turned stifle with good perpendicular hocks showed and moved very well having a great future ahead I am sure. Pleased to award the Reserve CC.

Anne Winterbourne – The Dobermann Club Championship Show – June 2019

Nothing overdone about this dog, liked his overall size and balance. Good head with dark eyes, elegant neckline leading to well placed shoulders. Enough depth and forechest, short coupled, well ribbed body with slightly sloping topline leading to shapely muscled rear quarters. Very nice dog who created a lovely picture standing and on the move RCC

Mandy clements – Birmingham Dobermann Club Championship Show – Oct 2018

Good shape and size. Liked his head shape and expression. Well balanced angulation front and rear. Enough chest and slightly sloping topline and correct tailset. Rear assembly on the dog was extremely good right from croup to foot. Punchy outline that gives the feeling of power. Moved well. Pleased to award him RCC

Beverley Barber – The Dobermann Club Championship Show – May 2018

Eye-catching square exhibit of ideal size, so well-balanced with excellent headpiece on strong arched neck, clean shoulders leading to hard topline, short-coupled, strong quarters, correct rear angulation. Good rhythmic movement. Needs to tighten in front but only 13 months old. RCC

Rosie Lane – South West Dobermann Club championship Show – Nov 2017
